My name is Maria Katherine López Aristizábal, I was born in Medellin, Antioquia in 1994, and since then I love traveling around the world and seeing new places, because it´s very interesting to know different cultures and costums. Currently, I study Economic and International business at Icesi university, I´m in sixth semester.

Traveling around Colombia might not sound as appealing as going to New York or Miami, but to know my country is paramount to my way of life. I can't claim to have traveled from north to south of Colombia but the few places I have visited have left me with beautiful experiences. So I want to mention my trip to Santa Marta. The summer of 2014 I had the pleasure of visiting Santa Marta with my mom, a trip not well planned but well enjoyed. Beaches like " Playa blanca ", "Playa cristal" and some other places like el rodadero, parque Tayrona in my journey through the beautiful city. The first day was not the best, because the sticky heat of the coast doesn't  please anybody, however the Tamaca hotel made ​it ​a better pastime, it was located on the outside of the city, with large rooms and a pool also next to the hotel was the beach and the sea. The buffet was the best part, eating unlimited is one of my biggest pleasures in life, whether it sounds a little glutton but who does not enjoy eating cheeses, salads, meats, juices and cocktails? Well yes a few more pounds were gained throughout the trip, however the night walks around the historic center did not allow for much increase.

Now I would like to mention some places that maked my life on a trip:

El rodadero

El rodadero is the most visited place in the city. It is located 5 km to the center of the city, this beach is a simble of the city it is known national wide do it to it is excelent cuality that provides moderms restaurants and hotels that offers the best service to the visitors. In this place you can also rent tents; the tents are located in the side by the edge which is really convenient for all the tourist, because it includes chair to rest. This is a really popular place for Young people because it is a safe place tha would make them secured and safe.

The white beach

Is one of the most visited tourist sites, since is near the aquarium and it`s surrounded by an incredible white beach with clear water which is ideal to take a bath. Although it has a lot of kiosks, is not a place where you can find hotel sor apartments near because it`s more likely a place to enjoy for a short time vacations.

 

National park Tayrona

Is a Colombian nature reserve. It is the hábitat of thausands of species that form the fauna of the country. Tayrona is one of the most importants parks in Colombia. It  Is really visited place do it to peace that it offers, you can walk surf and swim in this place. Tayrona also has a really great collection of ancient archeologist of and old cuality that used to belong to the town of Tayrona.

 

Is ultimately must express to visit the Santa Marta is one of the best experiences a person can do, for their high cultural knowledge, incredible beaches, the best sunset in the world and change of mindset to see the immensity of nature.
